Venturi Healthcare
Hot Water System Renewal, Boiler Installation & Full Repiping Works
Overview
Venturi Healthcare operate specialist care homes supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. In one of their facilities, the existing hot water system had become unreliable and ineffective, leading to inconsistent temperatures, frequent faults, and increasing maintenance concerns.
To restore safe, dependable hot water provision and improve overall system performance, a complete upgrade of the boiler, pipework, and distribution system was required.
Challenges
To deliver a safe and compliant system upgrade in a live care environment, the project required:
✔ Full replacement of an ageing and inefficient boiler system.
✔ Complete re-piping of the hot water network throughout the plantroom.
✔ Careful planning and execution around known asbestos materials, ensuring full safety compliance.
✔ Maintaining safe, reliable hot water availability for residents and staff wherever possible.
✔ Working sensitively within a mental-health care home environment to minimise disruption.
Solution
Times Group carried out an initial survey to verify system condition, asbestos risks, and operational requirements. A new high-efficiency boiler was installed to provide improved reliability, reduced energy consumption, and long-term performance.

The entire hot water pipework network was redesigned and replaced, ensuring better flow rates, improved heat retention, and enhanced resilience. All works involving asbestos areas were carefully planned and completed under strict control measures in accordance with regulations, ensuring full safety for residents, staff, and engineers.
Phased installation allowed essential services to remain operational wherever possible, avoiding unnecessary disruption to the care home.
Results
• A fully renewed, compliant, and high-efficiency hot water system.
• Significantly improved reliability and temperature stability.
• Enhanced safety through controlled asbestos management.
• Reduced operational costs and long-term maintenance requirements.
• Improved comfort and consistency for residents and staff.
Venturi Healthcare commended the team for their professionalism, sensitivity, and high-quality workmanship — particularly given the complexities of the environment and the safety considerations involved.
