Ivolve Care & Support
Air Source Heat Pump Replacement and Plantroom Upgrade
Overview
Ivolve Care & Support required urgent replacement of a failed Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) system serving one of their care homes.
The existing setup provided inconsistent heating and hot water performance, causing operational challenges and increased energy consumption. The project aimed to restore full functionality, enhance system efficiency, and ensure reliability for residents and staff.
Challenges
To replace and modernise the failed heating system while the care home remained operational, the project needed to:
✔ Replace the non-functioning ASHP with a more efficient and reliable system.
✔ Upgrade the existing plantroom to integrate with new technologies.
✔ Improve system controls for optimised energy management and comfort.
✔ Minimise disruption to residents and ensure continuity of heating and hot water.
Solution
Times Group carried out a full evaluation of the existing system to determine the root cause of failure and identify opportunities for improvement. A new, high-efficiency Air Source Heat Pump was installed, supported by upgraded plantroom equipment and a modernised control system for precise temperature regulation and energy optimisation.

Our engineers implemented the works with careful phasing to maintain heating and hot water supply throughout, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff.
Results
• Restored full heating and hot water functionality.
• Significantly improved system efficiency and reliability.
• Enhanced control and monitoring for optimised performance.
• Reduced energy usage and ongoing maintenance requirements
The client praised the professionalism and responsiveness of the Times Group team, noting the improved comfort levels for residents and the noticeable reduction in energy costs following the upgrade.
